Its not compulsory for a Muslim lady to put on a veil but its highly recommended though....in Islam "there's no compulsion in religion" as the Qur'an says. Please go get proper knowledge of others and stop living in your small but ignorant world.

Sisters in the catholic world put on veils to hide their beauty from men, which they dont want have, muslems put on veils because, it is believed in islam that, a lady should not let a man take a second look at her, if he is not her husband.there are verses in the holy bible that says women should be veiled, but what do we see today?this is a quote from the bible, 1Co 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 1Co 11:6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. one thing we should understandis that, both the bible and the quran are said to be the law of life, and laws are meant to be obeyed. God commands, God did ask human to make his or her own choices between the good and bad. In islam, we make sure our women do whats right, thats not oppressions, its straightening.

Muslin , Christian ,Hindi and others we are all one people, I hate when people say our way of worship is the best, saying something so positive about your religion affiliation and say all negative things about others, I just want we African to understand only one thing without that we will always have religion problem,,, religion problem is not only fighting or killing each other,, it also affect in so many ways,, there are offices you will go to seek a job and the management or the owner of the company where you went to seek job will first like to know the religion you belong... We all should know that religions are man made, 70% of the violent we have today in most part of the continent is religion crisis,,, I don't have problem with muslin or christian. I have not been to catholic neither do I know their style,,, human should get their liberty to choice the part in want in life,,, I'm not concerned about what somebody wear or put on provided nobody walking naked along the street that is only what bad. we shouldn't misquoted each other.....
